Neuromodulation
The brain recovers by rewiring, and therapy provides the training that shapes the new wiring. Neuromodulation is targeted, non-invasive stimulation that primes the brain to change while that training happens. It is never a stand-alone treatment at Evexia Plus: it is a force multiplier on the hours of therapy the patient is already doing.
Methods and equipment
- HD-tDCS (high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation): painless, low-intensity electrical stimulation focused on the brain regions therapy is targeting
- Applied during the same programme phase as physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy, so stimulation and training reinforce each other
- Photobiomodulation: light-based stimulation used to support cellular recovery processes
Indicative intensity
Where prescribed, sessions typically run several times a week alongside the daily therapy programme.
