Anyone ordinarily resident in Ireland who is entitled to public healthcare can apply. No medical card is needed, and holding private health insurance does not exclude you. The claim is made in the patient's name.

Yes, before treatment begins, though not before you call us. The HSE accepts a referral from a GP or from a hospital consultant who sees the patient as a public patient. A private-only referral cannot support a claim, and the letter needs a handwritten signature. If the referral is not in place yet, we will explain exactly what to ask your GP for.

You pay Evexia Plus directly on discharge, then apply to the HSE for repayment with the application form, itemised invoice, receipts and discharge documents, which we prepare with you. The HSE repays the lesser of what you paid or the cost of the same treatment in the Irish public system, and aims to do so within 30 working days of receiving complete documents. Usually within weeks. There is no waiting list; admission is arranged as soon as our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician has reviewed the medical records. Our Irish team can typically indicate a likely admission date on the first call.

Yes. One family member stays free of charge, in the patient's room or in nearby accommodation we arrange. Additional relatives can stay in seaside hotels in Kallikratia, five minutes away, at their own cost, and a free shuttle bus runs to Thessaloniki.
