Water changes the arithmetic of rehabilitation. It carries the body's weight, so a person who cannot yet stand on land can stand, step and work in the pool, earlier and with less pain. Our hydrotherapy complex is built around that head start: three purpose-built pools, indoor and outdoor, with adaptive equipment, hydromassage, and ramp and hoist access for every level of mobility.

Methods and equipment

  • Three purpose-built pools: indoor pools at graded depths, plus an outdoor pool used in the warmer months
  • Halliwick concept and Bad Ragaz Ring Method, delivered one-to-one by hydrotherapy specialists
  • Dedicated paediatric sessions, for children the pool is often the therapy they ask to repeat
  • Adaptive entry: ramps and ceiling hoists, so no level of mobility is excluded
  • Hydromassage for tone, pain and circulation

Indicative intensity

Typically several sessions a week where hydrotherapy is part of the programme, around 60 minutes each, prescribed and reviewed by the consultant.

Where standing starts before the legs are ready.

Ask how many pool sessions a week your family member's programme would include, and what the therapists would use them for.
