Hydrotherapy

Water changes the arithmetic of rehabilitation. It carries the body's weight, so a person who cannot yet stand on land can stand, step and work in the pool, earlier and with less pain. Our hydrotherapy complex is built around that head start: three purpose-built pools, indoor and outdoor, with adaptive equipment, hydromassage, and ramp and hoist access for every level of mobility.
Methods and equipment
- Three purpose-built pools: indoor pools at graded depths, plus an outdoor pool used in the warmer months
- Halliwick concept and Bad Ragaz Ring Method, delivered one-to-one by hydrotherapy specialists
- Dedicated paediatric sessions, for children the pool is often the therapy they ask to repeat
- Adaptive entry: ramps and ceiling hoists, so no level of mobility is excluded
- Hydromassage for tone, pain and circulation
Indicative intensity
Typically several sessions a week where hydrotherapy is part of the programme, around 60 minutes each, prescribed and reviewed by the consultant.
